Ourivesaria da Guia was one of the most celebrated goldsmiths and jewellers in Lisbon. Founded in 1875, it achieved enormous prestige in the first half of the twentieth century. Established in Largo da Mouraria for decades, it was forced to relocate after the Martim Moniz demolitions. After the "Pombalino" building in which it had been housed was demolished, it operated at the Hotel Mundial between 1958 and the end of the 1970s.
The relationship between what we see and what we know is never complete. The way we see things is influenced by what we know, or by what we believe.
