As soon as you enter MATER, you can collect a paddle from the counter and raise it whenever you wish to bid on an item.

Why bid in the auction room? Being present at the auction gives you greater control over your bids and allows you to collect the items you have purchased immediately after the auction ends.

Bid directly on the MATER website or via one of our partner platforms.

Why bid online? Online bidding allows you to follow the entire auction and bid in real time, even from a distance.

BY TELEPHONE

Request a telephone bid for the lots you are interested in via the website or by contacting MATER up to 3 hours before the auction. Requesting a telephone bid requires payment of the lot’s reserve price. If the telephone connection fails and there are no further bids for the lot, it will be awarded to you.

Why bid by telephone? If you are unable to attend the auction, this method allows you to bid more competitively and with greater control over your participation. You can compete directly with other bidders, just as if you were present in the auction room.

BY ABSENTEE BID

You can place an absentee bid via our website or by contacting MATER up to 3 hours before the auction. You must specify the maximum bid amount; the lot will be awarded at the lowest possible price. If no one bids above the reserve price, the lot will be yours at the reserve price.

Why place an absentee bid? Placing an absentee bid allows you to take part in the auction up to an amount you have set in advance, even if you are unavailable on the day of the auction.
